The President’s Cup 233

This Week Back to Team Golf with the President’s Cup

Held at the Royal Montreal Golf Club

7279 Yards  Par 70

The Defending Champion is the United States

This week the President’s Cup.  The USA versus the World – less Europe.  Similar to the Ryder Cup but this is played over four days and there are 30 points available.  (this will be important when predicting the winning score)  Finally back on schedule after COVID, this is a biennial event alternating being held in the U.S. and somewhere else in the world – less Europe.  First held in 1994, this event has resembled the early years of the Ryder Cup as the U.S. has dominated.  Like the early years of the RC, the International Team has won the cup once, in convincing fashion, and there has been one tie.  In 1998, playing for the first time outside the U.S., the Internationals won the cup 20 1/2 to 11 1/2 (there were 32 points available back then).  The International Team won every Fourball and Foursome session and split the singles 6 to 6 . . . It was a rout!

FUN FACT:  The Royal Montreal Golf Club is the oldest golf club in North America.

This Week is a Pick Six – At Least Two from each Team

3 points for a win, one point for a half . . . predict the winning team and score for the bonus
