DP World Tour Championship 71

This Week the DP World Tour Championship

Held at the Jumeirah Golf Estates

7706 Yards  Par 72

Dubai

The Defending Champion is Nicholas Højgaard

That is a cool trophy

This is the end of the DP World Tour season.  Now called the Race to Dubai . . .  which replaced the European Tour’s Order of Merit in 2009 . . . when Lee Westwood was champion.  The field is composed of the top 50 players in the Race to Dubai rankings . . . this is a no cut event.

FUN FACT:  When this tournament was first announced, the purse was $10 million dollars.  But a couple months before the first tee was put in the ground, the purse and the winners check were reduced by 25% . . . this is no doubt what forced Lee to go to LIV.
