First played in 1922, where Bob McDonald was champion and took home a $1,633 winner’s check.  How do you suppose they came up with that amount for first prize?  Over 100 years old . . . this is the sixth oldest event on the PGA tour.  Also the week before the Masters, so the field will be a lot of hungry golfers looking for a spot at the grown up table.

 

FUN FACT:  Bob was a very well known golf instructor with a number of HoF clients.  He was also a veteran of the Second Boer War . . .  which probably goes on the CV under . . .  Other
