Known then as the Texas Victory Open, Byron took home $2000. The event has been named for Lord Byron since 1968. The tournament is the leading fundraiser for charity on the PGA Tour, raising over $143 million during its history.
FUN FACT: Australian great, 5 time Open Championship winner Peter Thomson, won his one and only PGA Tour event here in 1956.
